Wow it is crazy that we are already halfway through 2020. This year has been the furthest thing from “normal”, but at the end of the day I am grateful for my health and the health of those closest to me. My previous goals for 2020 have mostly went to crap (as I assume a lot of yours probably have as well), so today I’d like to start fresh with a new set of goals for the rest of the year; it is never too late y’all!
1. Participate in some type of purposeful movement every day
Whether that is taking the stairs or going for a walk after clinicals, I just want to MOVE MY BODY (especially in ways that I love). I don’t want to stress myself out with a super strict workout plan or anything, so this is enough for now.
2. Post at least 2x a month to the blog
This may be a challenge during my clinical rotations, but it is a challenge I am up for. 2020 is the year I vowed to take my blog, my brand, and my business seriously, so I’ve got to put in the necessary work if I want to see results!
3. Take care of my hair
My hair seems to always be put on the back burner. For the rest of the year, I want to make sure I take the time to nourish my beautiful strands. That means washing my hair at least once a week, and deep conditioning every two weeks. Does anyone else struggle with taking care of their natural hair? I feel like it is so easy to neglect it.
4. Read at least one book a month
During PT school it has been hard to read for pleasure, so reading one book a month is something I have been wanting to do for a while. I currently have about seven books on my bookshelf collecting dust, so I want to finish most of these by the new year. Reading is an essential part of my current morning routine, so this goal shouldn’t be too hard to achieve.
5. Put all of the money “The Curly Clinician, LLC” accrues towards my student loans
With the income that I am acquiring with this blog and my IG platform, I would love to start aggressively paying down my loans (private school loans aren’t a joke *nervous laugh*). Ya girl doesn’t want to be broke for the rest of her life okay! Thank you for all of YOUR support that allows me to be able to do this!
6. Become a plant mom
Since I can’t live out my dreams of being a dog mom right now (clinicals make that practically impossible) being a plant mom will suffice. It seems like everyone has been getting into gardening during quarantine, and I really want to hop on that train! Because I will be living at home with my parents for most of my 3rd year, I will actually have the time and resources needed to hopefully keep my plant babies alive. Shoutout to my best friend Lindsay who is letting me have a few pieces of her plants!
7. Meal prep lunches during the week
This will make sure that I am eating nutritious meals during clinical rotations. I don’t want to fall into the trap of grabbing fast food for lunch, so meal prepping is a must.
Hopefully all of these goals all go according to plan! Here’s to making the best of the rest of 2020!
