Ya girl is 2/12 weeks into her third and FINAL clinical rotation, so I figured it was time for me to share the things that have been essential during my rotations this year! Less is more, in my opinion, so we are keeping this list short, sweet, and to the point!
- City Adventurer Backpack: This is the perfect work/clinical bag! It’s a good size, has so many compartments, and is easy to wipe down and sanitize after a shift. This bag is a little on the pricer side, but it is totally worth it in my opinion!
- Hydro Flask Water Bottle: Between wearing a mask for hours on end and constantly moving from patient to patient, it is difficult for me to remember to properly hydrate—my Hydro Flask has been my saving grace (bonus points for it keeping your water cold and being easy to clean)!
- O’Keeffe’s Working Hands Hand Cream: A co-worker introduced me to this hand cream and my hands are forever changed! That hospital soap and sanitizer is so drying!
- Kate Spade New York Take Note Medium Vegan Leather Notebook: Now of course any notebook will suffice, this is just the one that I have been using! My MIL gifted it to me a few Christmases ago, and it has been perfect for easy note-taking. It is small enough to fit in my scrub pocket, so I can easily jot down important information and things I want to look up later!
- Airpods: I am easily distracted, so I often wear headphones while charting reviewing and documenting so that I stay on track lol.
- Blistex Medicated Lip Balm: I know I know, this seems lame but ya girl refuses to walk around with chapped lips (and that hospital air is no joke)! Blistex is by far my favorite chapstick (not sponsored but I wish it was haha).
I hope this helps you decide what to keep with you during your clinical rotations!
