I don’t know about you, but fall is definitely my favorite season for fashion! With the many trends out there that come and go, today I’m sharing SEVEN timeless staples that every woman should have in their fall wardrobe. The older I get, the more I am prioritizing basics and staples and shying away from fast-fashion and short-lasting trends, so I hope this post will give you some ideas for your personal wardrobe!
Flannels
You know I couldn’t write a fall blog post without including a flannel! Flannels are easy to throw on with any outfit, and are very versatile. Whether it is worn as a shirt, a jacket, or around your waist, you NEED at least one flannel in your closet. Bonus points if it is actual flannel material! My favorite flannel this season is from Target but I have linked a few other cute and affordable options for you to choose from!
Brown Jackets
Corduroy, teddy bear, leather, trench, the possibilities are endless! My brown corduroy jacket is only $20 at Walmart, and is so easy to throw on when I want to spice up an outfit. I am loving everything camel-colored this fall.
Animal Print Shoes
Shoes are my weakness, and patterned shoes are IT. They can spice up a boring outfit and really help you make a statement. Go ahead girl, step out of that comfort zone! Snakeskin and cheetah/leopard print (does anyone else struggle distinguishing between the two??) are very common this season, and tend to stay that way. My snakeskin booties are from DSW, and my cheetah Chelseas are from Rothy’s.
Chunky Boots
Everyone and their mom seems to pulling out their combat boots for fall, so of course I had to include these in this post! Chunky boots in general can easily be dressed up or down, and they’re also great to wear while doing all of the typical fall activities (pumpkin patches, apple picking, bonfires, corn mazes, etc.). My favorites are these Chelsea-style boots from Rocket Dog!
Fluffy Cardigans/Sweaters
If I wouldn’t want to sleep in it, I don’t want it! Chunky cardigans are the BEST, and I definitely gravitate towards them for the fall. I’m all about comfort, so these will always be a staple for me; you just can’t go wrong!
Black Denim
Need I say more? A nice pair of black jeans are so necessary this season, especially because they can really “elevate” a look. My jeans are from American Eagle: they’re high waisted AND comfortable! Mom jeans will always be my go-to, so these jeans just WORK.
Mini-Skirts
Middle-school-me is LIVING for this trend right now. I love wearing skirts in the Fall, especially with tights underneath (always my go-to outfit for Thanksgiving or Christmas, I love stunting in the kitchen lol). I have been loving plaid and corduroy skirts this season, so I have included some of my favorites below! The skirt I am wearing is from J. Crew Factory.
Let me know in a comment below what your favorite fall staple is! I’m going to have to go with fluffy sweaters/cardigans!
