I am a BIG podcast-listener, especially because I have a 20-45 minute commute to and from my clinical rotations during the week. Listening is one of my favorite ways to absorb information, so podcasts PERFECT, especially with all of the things I currently have going on in my life! When I first started blogging in 2018, I struggled to find blogging/content creation/entrepreneur/professional development podcasts that I could relate to. It has taken me a little while to find my favorite podcasts and bloggers, but I am so glad that I finally have! I am excited to be sharing them with you today, especially since many of you told me you were looking forward to this specific post!
P.s. these podcasts are listed in no specific order!
1. The Content Creatives Podcast
The Content Creatives Podcast empowers creatives to discover, grow, and own their brand. Co-hosted by two content creators/Seattle bloggers, Maddy Keineker (@madcrayy) and Emma Cortes (@emmasedition) share their tips and lessons they’ve learned navigating the influencer world. Maddy and Emma dive into the tools and strategies to execute content creation for social media channels and the online space. They also open up about recognizing and asking for your value as a content creator.
I actually just discovered this podcast a few weeks ago and I am OBSESSED! I like that these episodes are around 20-30 minutes, and that they are organized really well. Each episode is typically broken down into numbered, bite-sized ideas that are easy to understand and easy to start implementing immediately. Emma and Maddy are so down to earth (and funny!), and their passion for their work and helping other content creators succeed is so evident. When I am feeling stressed about content creation, they are perfect for motivation and a good laugh!
2. The Mattie James Show
The Mattie James Show (formerly the Mattieologie podcast) is Mattie’s podcast where she shares her tips and advice on productivity, content creation and influencer marketing based on her experience. From pitching brands to maximizing your things to do list, Mattie shares how to get everyday wins no matter what level you’re at in your career or life. Never one to shy away from how she succeeded, made something work or failed + what she learned from it, The Mattie James Show was created for the millennial professional in mind.
If you know me, then you know how much I love Mattie James! I will always ride for her because of how much her content has personally helped me with my brand, so of course I had to include her podcast (and she just radiates #BlackGirlMagic). Each episode is typically 7-15 ish minutes, which is great for those of us (aka me!) with short attention spans. Mattie is big on repurposing her content, so each podcast episode typically has an accompanying blog post or Youtube video. In my opinion, this is great because if you end up wanting to learn more about a certain topic, you can! This is also a good way to get in that repetition to make these ideas and concepts really stick. I have listened to almost all of Mattie’s episodes, and have even gone back to listen to specific episodes again!
3. The Influencer Podcast
The Influencer Podcast explores the secrets behind the ever-changing trends of business, marketing and social media. Hosted by marketing strategist, New York Times best-selling publicist and business coach Julie Solomon, Julie and guests join in the conversation to share how they engage, persuade and grow their unique influence, and how their work impacts their industry. Julie interviews some of the brightest minds in the industry (Rachel Hollis, Lauryn Evarts, Amy Porterfield, Marie Forleo, and more) who share their strategies, wisdom and answer some of your most pressing online business and marketing questions. Ready to start or uplevel and grow your influence to a newfound success? If so, you are in the right place!
Even though I haven’t listened to this podcast as much as some of the others on this list, it is still one that I really enjoy (and one that most bloggers recommend). Julie’s episodes tend to be on the longer side (about 30 minutes to an hour and a half), so I save these for longer drives or weekends. Julie interviews some great folks in the creative space, and I ALWAYS learn so much after listening to this podcast!
4. The Rachel Hollis Podcast
From New York Times best-selling author Rachel Hollis comes the ultimate podcast for anyone looking for more joy and purpose in their lives. Featuring candid interviews with top performers in business, media, and lifestyle, as well as deep dives into topics like health and motivation, the Rachel Hollis Podcast has everything you need to level up your life! New episodes premiere every Tuesday.
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I have been on a Rachel Hollis kick lately! She is my one-stop-shop for all things lifestyle, blogging, entrepreneurship, and overall wellness. She is one of my favorite “motivational” speakers, and is an expert when it comes to personal development. Rachel interviews a lot of great guests on her podcast, but my favorite episodes are always her “solo” ones. She is so inspiring, so this is a podcast I usually listen to during my morning commute to set the tone for the day.
5. The Goal Digger Podcast
How do I build my dream job? How do I make money online? Am I ready to leave my 9 to 5? How can I create passive income? How can I grow my Instagram following? Along with sharing her best kept secrets, she interviews the best in the industry (Amy Porterfield, Jamie Ivey, Melyssa Griffin, Lori Harder, Cathy Heller and so much more) who will share their secrets to ensure you are seen, heard, (and hired!). Most bloggers are familiar with Jenna Kutcher (unless you’ve been living under a rock or something lol). Her podcast is another one that is on the longer side (most episodes are over 30 minutes), but she does a great job bringing on interesting guests to share their stories! She puts the BOSS in #girlboss, and this is one podcast that I always fall back on when I am needing some extra encouragement and motivation.
