Let’s talk about books ba-by! One of my goals for the rest of 2020 is to read for pleasure (that’s right, frantically reading my MSK textbook doesn’t count). During quarantine, I have definitely rekindled my love for reading (also shoutout to my MIL’s “bookstagram” for the extra inspiration). When I was younger, I was CONSTANTLY reading. I vividly remember in middle school my mom would have to make me put my Twilight book away and go to bed; ya girl just wanted to stay up all night reading (was anyone else like this?)!
I have incorporated the goal of reading at least a “chapter” a day into my current morning routine, and I have really enjoyed it. Like I said in the post previously mentioned, I always enjoy reading for pleasure, but never “have time”. I am now committed to MAKING time to read, and it is one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while.
I have been loving “self-help”/personal development books lately, along with books that I feel will help me improve my blog, my brand, and my business. These types of books really motivate and excite me. P.s. these books aren’t listed in any particular order. If you’re interested in any of them, they will be linked here AND listed on my Amazon Storefront!
1. Zig Ziglar’s Secrets of Closing the Sale – Zig Ziglar
Like I’ve said so many times, 2020 is the year I am taking my brand seriously hunny! So I feel like this book will be a great starting point. I suck at “selling” and having a “marketing mindset”, so I am hoping this book will help me improve in those areas!
2. Influencer – Brittany Hennessy
Excited to learn more about monetizing my brand!
3. Untamed – Glennon Doyle
Okay so we cannot deny the BEAUTY of this cover! I am definitely one of those people that will buy a book if it has a cute cover (#guilty). I’ve heard so many good things about this one!
4. Girl, Wash your Face – Rachel Hollis
If you haven’t heard of this book you’re probably living under a rock.
5. Girl, Stop Apologizing – Rachel Hollis
I am very much a “people pleaser”, so this book has been a great eye-opener for me. I am almost done with it!
6. You are a Badass – Jen Sincero
I can’t tell you how many people have RAVED about this book. My imposter syndrome likes to rear its ugly head every so often, so I am really looking forward to this read!
7. You are a Badass at Making Money – Jen Sincero
Shoutout to my MIL for letting me borrow this one, I’m expecting great things!
Let me know if you’ve read any of these books down below! I’d love to hear your thoughts!
